About Chris Mayeux

In 1988, pharmacy owner Chris Mayeux began to prepare for his career by attending Northeast Louisiana University (now the University of Louisiana at Monroe). During his enrollment at the university, Chris Mayeux earned admittance to the Rho Chi Society, an academic honor society in pharmacy; Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society; Mortar Board Honor Society, a national honor society recognizing college seniors for superior achievement in scholarship, leadership and service; and Kappa Sigma, a values-based men’s fraternity. In 1992, he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science.

Immediately following graduation, Chris Mayeux took the position of Staff Pharmacist at Bossier Medical Center in Bossier City, Louisiana. In this role, his main responsibilities involved preparing IVs for the hospital’s patients, reviewing patient charts, and adding order information to the hospital’s records.

After leaving Bossier Medical Center, Mr. Mayeux became the Pharmacist-in-Charge at Causey’s Pharmacy in Natchitoches, Louisiana. There, he oversaw the daily operations of the pharmacy and interpreted and filled prescriptions. Additionally, he initiated the establishment of the pharmacy’s home infusion and durable medical equipment sectors. He also assisted with the clinical pharmacy practice, which provided a range of services to the pharmacy’s customers. These services included diabetes education, a weight loss program, and blood pressure and cholesterol screening.

In 2010, after 16 years at Causey’s Pharmacy, Chris Mayeux partnered with Karen Spillman Miller to establish M&M Pharmacy in Natchitoches, Louisiana. As co-owner and Pharmacist-in-Charge, Mr. Mayeux manages the pharmacy’s daily operations, and interprets and fills prescriptions and physician orders. In recognition of its success, M&M Pharmacy received a Best New Small Business award in 2010.
